About this calculator

Where do the default numbers come from?

The 3% error rate and the $250 cost per erroneous order are the figures we use throughout the site, drawn from manual entry benchmarks and the real cost of unwinding a wrong shipment once you count the pick, the freight, the credit note and the call.

What counts in the $250 per bad order?

The picking and packing already done, the freight out and often back, the credit note or replacement, and the time someone spends on the phone fixing it. It is not the value of the goods.

Should I use my own numbers instead of the defaults?

Yes. The defaults exist so the page is not blank. Your minutes per order and your own error rate will give you a figure you can actually defend to whoever signs.

Is anything collected when I use this?

No. There is no form, no gate and no data collected. The result is yours to copy and forward.

What would the automated side cost?

Published plans run from free, covering your first five successful orders with no expiry, to $250 a month for up to 100 orders. Above 100 a month we quote rather than publish a price.
