PDF to Order by LevelOps has earned Built for Shopify status, the designation Shopify awards to apps that meet its own bar for performance, design conformance, error handling and depth of integration. The app, which turns emailed purchase orders into validated Shopify draft orders for wholesalers, earned the status on 14 August 2026 and holds a 5.0 rating on the Shopify App Store.
What Built for Shopify measures
It is Shopify's quality bar, not a marketing badge an app can buy. The criteria cover how fast the app loads inside admin, whether the interface conforms to Polaris, how the app behaves when something fails, and how deeply it uses the platform's own primitives rather than working around them. Apps that meet it are surfaced differently on the App Store, and apps that stop meeting it lose the status.
Why an intake app is judged on error handling
Because intake is where the wrong answer is expensive. PDF to Order reads a purchase order that a buyer sent as a PDF, an Excel file, a CSV or email text, matches every line to the seller's catalogue, prices it from the account's Shopify price list, and produces a draft order. A silent failure in that chain becomes a wrong shipment and a credit note. The app flags what it cannot match instead of guessing, and a person approves every order before it exists.
What it does not claim
The status is about how the app is built, not about whether it suits your business. Our own threshold has not moved: below roughly fifteen document orders a month, a person doing it manually is cheaper and simpler than any software, including ours. Built for Shopify does not change that arithmetic and we will still say so on a call.
