Katana MRP for a natural cosmetics maker

Les Mauvaises Herbes makes botanical cosmetics and household products, and sells the raw ingredients to make them at home. LevelOps implemented Katana, then automated the processes around it.

The need

A catalogue that is both finished goods and raw material

Les Mauvaises Herbes sells finished botanical cosmetics alongside the individual ingredients and DIY components a customer needs to make their own, across a retail shop on rue Saint-Hubert and an online store. That is an unusually hard inventory shape: the same oil or extract is at once a raw material consumed by a production batch and a sellable product in its own right, and the stock has to be right in both roles at the same time.

Questions about the Les Mauvaises Herbes engagement

What does this page cover?

What Les Mauvaises Herbes needed, the scope of the engagement and the systems implemented, which were Katana MRP. It is an implementation record rather than a measured case study.

Why are there no numbers on the outcome?

Because we did not measure them. Publishing a gain we never instrumented would be inventing one, so the page records what was done and stops there.

Could you do the same for us?

Likely, if you are on comparable systems. Describe your situation through the contact page and say what you already run, and we will tell you whether Katana MRP is the right starting point.

How does this relate to the Shopify app?

Implementation work puts the management system in place. PDF to Order handles the step before it, getting orders that arrive as documents into the system. Some clients have both, many have only one.

Can we speak to Les Mauvaises Herbes?

Ask through the contact page. We check with the client before passing on any contact, so it depends on what they agree to.

Planning the same kind of project?

Tell us what you run today and what is breaking. We will tell you whether the system you are considering is the right one, before anyone signs anything.
